Minnesota Monthly - July 2010 "Tennis On Selby is now open. While you're waiting for your racquet to be restrung, find essential bags, shoes, apparel, and accessories. 1599 Selby Ave., St. Paul, 651-340-3998"
Ali Shops - June 2010 "A tennis shop so stylish, you don't have to play to appreciate it. More boutique in feel than your typical sports store, the loft-like shop features tennis apparel both classic and feminine (small section for men) from Lija, Pure Lime, K-Swiss and others as well as serious tennis shoes and appealing accessories like colorful Britto Luggage and Lacoste beach towels. But about the game - there are racquets from Babolat, Wilson, Prince and Head, and for those who remember the old tennis shop on Selby, its sought-after racquet stringer Dan O'Donnell now works here. It's a lot to love."
Minneapolis Picks - June 4, 2010 "With the 2010 French Open upon us, it dawned on us: it's time to get our game on. But a closer look at our banged-up racquet and our dingy skirt revealed that before we hit the courts, a little shopping was in order. The timing couldn't be better for opening a brand-new boutique dedicated to outfitting enthusiasts. Meet Tennis On Selby!
Far from a tacky sports store-feel, this small shop is welcoming, and almost homey. From an old brick wall backdrop, a plethora of Prince racquets and Wilson shoes popped out to greet us. We found a fine line of men's and women's apparel, including a darling Lacoste Bag that we just had to have. And that final icing? Custom racquet stringing by a certified Racquet Technician. When we left, with our new Babolat shoes and custom racquet, we knew that if our game isn't at its best this season, we'll have no one to blame but ourselves and our unruly backhand.
Thankfully, nothing boosts our confidence and gives us an adrenaline rush more than getting new apparel and professional equipment. We just hope that feeling rubs off on our game!"
Ali Shops - March 19, 2010 "How many times have I written recently that Selby & Snelling is the corner to watch? Well don't look away: coming in May, Tennis On Selby, a tennis boutique that aims to pick up where Tennis 5.0 left off some 15 years ago - down to the very same racket stringing expert. But this store will feature hard-to-find tennis apparel plus shoes and accessories for men. Later this summer, expect to see a new high-end fashion boutique to join the mix at Selby & Snelling, along with an appointment only store for local handbag line Heddy Freddy. Alishops.com will bring you all the opening details."
